We will keep this short and readable, because a privacy policy nobody can understand is not much use to anyone.
The short version
We do not ask for much, and we do not sell anything about you. The only personal details we ever see are the ones you hand over yourself, usually just a name and an email if you choose to write to us or sign up for something.
What lands in our hands
Two kinds of things. First, whatever you tell us: if you send a message, we get your name and your email. Second, the ordinary technical trail that any website leaves behind, like the rough part of the world you are browsing from, the device you are on, and which pages you looked at. None of that identifies you personally.
What we do with it
We use the technical information to understand which articles people actually find useful, and to keep the site running smoothly. If you email us, we use your address to reply. That is genuinely the whole list.
About cookies
Cookies are the small files that let a site remember you between visits. Ours help the site work and help show advertising that might be relevant to you. If you would rather not have them, you can switch them off in your browser settings. A few parts of the site may behave oddly if you do.
Other companies in the room
We use Google tools for analytics and advertising. They set their own cookies and follow their own rules, which you can read about on their site. You can control the advertising side through your own Google settings.
Children
This site is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect anything from anyone under thirteen, and if we ever discovered we had, we would remove it.
